Urn personalization options
While not required, many choose to personalize their urns with an engraved message, which may include a name, nickname(s), dates or birth and/or passing, and a thoughtful sentiment. Depending on the urn model chosen, there maybe be several lines of space available for your message, as well as various graphics available that we can add, which range from a simple heart or religious symbol, to sports graphics, nature-inspired drawings, hobbies and much more. This is a wonderful way to customize the urn in a style that pays tribute to the unique personality of your loved one its occupant. The engraving occurs directly into the metal, which results in a silver or gold look, depending on the particular qualities of the base metal.
Our artisans format the text font sizes, layout and graphics placement thoughtfully, based on the text entry that you provide with your order submission. Please note that urns are customized items that may not be returned, so please check your submission carefully to ensure that it’s 100% correct.
Block Font
Clean and crisp, our block font gets your message across clearly. Block is well-suited for situations when you have a lot to say, or if you like a stronger look in a traditional engraving style. It’s also very effective at getting your message across when all caps are chosen (all caps are not recommended when using the script font – choose block instead if all caps are required).
Script Font
The Script font provides a classic cursive-style look. It is not as well-suited for a larger amount of text, however, and may be harder to read from a distance, so keep that in mind if you choose script. Please also note that multiple capital letters grouped together are very difficult to read, due to the ornate styling of script capital letters, so we strongly recommend against all caps.

Choosing a size
Full Size/Adult/Large – 10″-11″ tall
Our full-sized cremation urns are used to hold the cremated remains of a loved one that weighed up to about 220 pounds, depending on the style chosen. Please note that the specific capacity of each of our urns is listed above in the Urn Specifications section, along with other important details regarding the urn. Please also note that the volume is ashes is calculated based on the traditional cremation method. If the aquamation method is used, the volume of ashes generated will typically be about 20-30% higher. About 6″ wide at the widest point, most of our full-size urns allow for both multi-line engraved text, as well as a graphic.Sharing/Medium/Child Size – 6″ tall
In many cases, families choose multiple sharing urns so that each can retain a portion of the ashes. Also commonly used for children and pets, the typical capacity is up to about 60 pounds of pre-cremation weight (deduct about 20-30% if the aquamation method is used for cremation). They’re typically about 4″ wide at the widest point and we offer text and graphic engraving for most of our sharing-size memorial cremation urns. This size is also suitable for many pets.Keepsake/Mini/Small – 3″ tall
This specialty size is useful when there is a desire to share a very small amount (less than 3 pounds/3 cubic inches) of cremains with family and friends. It’s a beautiful way to provide multiple keepsakes in the event that there are a larger number of persons that wish to retain a keepsake of the dearly departed. It may also be used for very small pets or when sharing the remains of a pet. Although much smaller in size, we do offer text and graphic engraving on many of our keepsake-sized memorial urns.Filling the urn
